PUBLISHED COMMUNITY SERVICE

Bristol Aphasia Choir

A public listing from the Well Aware directory. Check the provider’s website for current availability and access arrangements.

Published service description

The Bristol Aphasia Choir is open to anyone aged 18+ with communication difficulties following a stroke or brain injury, and family members, friends and carers.

Due to the unique way music and singing is processed in the brain, people with aphasia can have difficulty speaking but can often still sing fluently.

The Bristol Aphasia choir is led by Music Therapists Laura Cook and Denise Wong.

We are a new aphasia friendly choir based in Bristol. We meet at 12.15 –1.45 pm on Friday afternoons in term time, at UWE Frenchay, Room 2E025.
