AWP South Gloucestershire Intensive Services

A public listing from the Well Aware directory. Check the provider’s website for current availability and access arrangements.

Published service description

The Intensive Teams consist of experienced mental health staff who offer assessment and home treatment for people aged over 16 years experiencing a mental health crisis, as an alternative to hospital admission.

The team operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week. However, the team does not provide an 'emergency' service such as a 999 response.

This will usually be through the person's existing mental health team, GP referral, or self-referral. If the person being referred has never been seen by mental health services previously, they may be asked to see a primary care professional first.
